In October of 1955, this Ford F-100 rolled out of Richmond, Virginia built for one purpose--Service. Painted Olive Drab and marked with stenciled reminders of responsibility, it was never meant to be flashy. It was meant to work, to endure and to serve without complaint.

Decades later, that same spirit lives on through its owner, Don McKeehan.

Don was a humble three-tour Vietnam veteran who never sought recognition for his service. For him, this truck wasn't about attention or trophies-- it's about remembrance. It's about honoring those who came before him, those who stood beside him, and those who continue to serve today.

Shine Speedshop was entrusted with bring this truck back to life while preserving its soul. Our favorite part of the truck is the dash. Inside, the dash remains untouched, proudly displaying the original Army stenciling:

"THIS VEHICLE COST 1025.08 - DON'T ABUSE IT,"

along with "TP32" and "MPH55."

These markings remain as a quiet reminder of accountability, discipline and respect.

Beneath the vintage exterior, the truck now carries modern strength.

A BluePrint High Performance 347 cubic-inch small block Ford provides the power that puts out an honest 415 HP, giving the classic F-100 a heartbeat worthy of its battle-born past. Scotts suspension components consist of an I.F.S. system in front and a 4-bar rear, all on Aldan coil over shocks that gives it a low, purposeful stance. A shaved front bumper, tilt hood, red steel rims from Wheel Smith in Corona, CA. with Diamondback custom bold 18"Red Stripe tires, tying the build to both its vintage roots and hot rod style.

The all-steel body sitting on the factory but “step boxed” chassis for rigidity. It has a narrowed 9” Ford rear end with Trac-Loc 3:50:1 gears from Currie Enterprises. Transmission is an A.O.D. built by the Pirano’s at Westminister Performance Transmission. The custom BedWood American flag inlay bed blend tradition with craftsmanship.

Finished once again in authentic Olive Drab green, this 1955 F-100 stands as more than a restored military vehicle. It is a tribute--rolling proof of legacy, respect, patriotism, and a deep love of country. This truck honors all veterans, past and present, and the sacrifices made in the name of freedom
